NEW MACHU PICCHU REGULATIONS
Please be advised that new regulations are in place for all visitors to Machu Picchu, requiring that various tours be completed within the site to reduce overcrowding.
Tickets for these tours are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Peak season: The peak tourist season (April to October) is the time of year when most tourists visit Machu Picchu. Therefore, it is necessary to book the Inca Trail at least 4 months in advance and subject to availability.

MIX TRIP Please be advised that this tour involves combining activities with other travellers. Therefore, you may share the tour with staff and other travellers.All travellers are required to pay a tax on domestic flights in Peru, while foreign travellers are exempt from this requirement.

YELLOW FEBER
Upon entering the country you are visiting, you may be required to present a yellow fever certificate. We advise you to consult your local health professional about yellow fever and other vaccinations required for this area.

WET SEASON
Please be advised that the railway line may be partially closed during heavy rainfall (January - April) due to the rainy season.
Peru's protocols may require proof of dual vaccination against COVD-19 to board domestic flights and trains, as well as to access restaurants, museums and attractions.

Please note that there may be no lifts in the accommodation where we are staying and you may have to climb the stairs with your luggage.

Regarding WiFi, please note that for most of the trek there will be no WiFi and only limited mobile phone service available.

Please note that it is possible to take out travel health insurance, e.g. via credit card (Visa), often already available, or via ÖAMTC in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, or other providers.Germans, Austrians and Swiss require a passport that must be valid for six months upon entry, as well as other nationalities.Travellers of other nationalities may require a visa.Please note the respective visa requirements and enquire about a visa application in good time.
